Switching to a Whitelist Model
Hi, people of Blurt!
I'm just writing this quick post to let everyone know that I have switched to a whitelist model for my auto-votes.
From now on, votes will only go out to people who are whitelisted.
People who post a bunch of nonsense in order to trick the bot into giving them big votes will no longer receive votes.
With the previous model, every time I added some extra checks to try to avoid voting for scammers, the scammers would eventually figure out how to bypass the checks.
I've already added a bunch of accounts to the list, and I'm going to recruit some curators to help curate the list.
The only way to get on the list is to get noticed by one of the curators that will have access to the bot's controls, so the best way to get on the list is by posting quality content in order to catch the eyes of said people.
Eventually, I would like to switch to fully manual curation, but that will be in the future when I have more time to spend on programming.
I will continue to pay 80% of curation rewards back to delegators, so nothing has changed in regards to that. Once a week, payments are distributed to delegators based on their share of delegations.
Some prefer to receive the payments as Blurt Power instead of liquid BLURT. If that is the case for you, you can just let me know and I'll add you to the list of accounts who receive Blurt Power payments instead of liquid.
That'll be it for this one.
Have a good one!
